Advisor Standard is operated by 1001635274 ONTARIO INC., incorporated in Ontario. We operate the website at advisorstandard.com (the “Site”), a specialist directory for Canadian business brokers and M&A advisors.

We collect information in two ways:

Information sourced from public records

Advisor profile data — including names, firm affiliations, professional designations, association memberships, and contact information — is compiled from publicly accessible directories operated by industry associations such as IBBA and M&A Source. This information is gathered and displayed for informational purposes.

Information you provide directly

When you submit a profile claim form, we collect:

• Identity information: full name, job title, firm name, work email, phone number
• Professional information: bio, designations, languages, industries, deal history, geographic coverage
• Optional information: headshot URL, Calendly link, awards, testimonials, scheduling preferences
• Contact preferences: how you prefer prospective clients to reach you

Analytics data

We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymised pageview data. No cookies are set and no personally identifiable information is collected through this system.

Information collected through the claim form is used to:

• Verify your identity and affiliation with the claimed profile
• Update and enrich your public Advisor Standard profile upon approval
• Send you a confirmation email and status updates about your claim
• Maintain an internal review queue for manual verification

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your submission data is stored using the following third-party services:

• Airtable — our internal database, used to store claim submissions for manual review
• Resend — used to send confirmation and notification emails
• Vercel — our hosting provider, which processes web traffic and anonymised analytics

Each of these providers operates under their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. We have selected providers whose data handling practices meet applicable standards.

Claim submission records are retained for as long as your profile remains active on the Site, or for up to two years after a rejected or withdrawn claim, whichever is shorter. Anonymised analytics data is retained in accordance with Vercel's standard data retention policies.

Depending on your province of residence, you may have rights under applicable Canadian privacy legislation (PIPEDA or provincial equivalents) including:

• The right to access the personal information we hold about you
• The right to correct inaccurate information
• The right to request removal of your information from our systems
• The right to withdraw consent for processing (where processing is consent-based)

Information displayed on advisor profiles is sourced from public records and is intended for informational use by businesses seeking M&A advisory services. If you are an advisor listed on the Site and wish to correct, update, or remove your profile, please use the claim flow at advisorstandard.com/claim or contact us directly.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated via email to advisors with active claimed profiles.
